Energy Linkages

Introduction

Please note that this topic is not one to be taken lightly. When one undertakes work on energy linkages, they must be certain they can deal with the energies encountered, and can successfully sever or remove the link. Otherwise, one may operate under the presumption it has been resolved when it has not or they can reinvigorate, strengthen or add to the existing linkage. Hence, I will go through this topic as thoroughly, without being overwhelming, as I can.

Even if one did have the knowledge, there is no way for words to convey the complexity of our nature or that of the Cosmos within which we exist; however, they can aid in grasping the ideas. Hence, as you read this explanation or examination of energy linkages, as with the other essays, bear in mind that it is a figurative one and not literal. Our mind does not need to know the physics to it anymore than one need understand biomechanics to move their arm. The mind only needs training so it understands the relationships, and the mind works very well from symbolic training. The reason is everything that exists, in whatever form it takes, is energy in relationships, and symbols convey these types of ideas very well.

Use your imagination as you contemplate the words and feel the meaning behind them. Both the symbols and the words to a lesser degree, and only if they provide a good model and are consistent throughout, reflect the physics or the dynamics of how our consciousness or awareness manifests and moves energy.

I hope these words convey sufficient understanding of how our thoughts and acts manifest energy and the relationships these energies form to help you visualize and gradually develop the skill to work with energy linkages yourself. When you do so, you will do so in your own unique way. This is very true when trying to understand energy, particularly how it acts and reacts. We all perceive and think about it our own way.

Basic Concepts

Our look at energy linkages begins with concepts covered earlier. They will bring back to focus what must have a firm grasp of if we want to develop the awareness and skills to work with linkages. One of these is the expanding of our awareness beyond thinking we are our bodies, to see ourselves as beings of energy, some of it in physical form, some not. This awareness comes over time and only our accepting this at some level enables it. Without this belief, ones work with energy is likely to be ineffective. Other important concepts to cement in your awareness are that energy follows attention and once set in motion it continues on its set motion unless acted upon by another force.

Our perception of reality is pivotal and comes from our thoughts about it. Not our idle thoughts, but the deep rooted ones that are part of the structure of our rational mind. If we believe we are only physical beings then we perceive reality in this fashion regardless of whether it is actually true or not. It is unlikely that we will change this view without evidence to the contrary. This awareness is not optional if one intents to work with energy, or on their energy linkages.

The lack of belief in our having non-rational, psychic or spiritual awareness is a barrier to developing skills related to working with energy. This is a key mental barrier though there are others. If you have done the “What Do I Believe?” exercise, you should have bumped into some of these already.

I have heard many say they would not believe in anything until they see it, failing to realize the near impenetrable wall, or burden of truth this thinking creates. We cannot grasp what our minds do not allow. The conundrum one faces is that they will not likely believe evidence to the contrary because they already believe it is not possible; hence, any evidence is false evidence. The fundamental problem with this argument is that it assumes you have proved or can prove the opposite; however, lack of evidence to the contrary is not proof. This brings us back to the chicken and the egg and we have made it a black and white issue. In such cases, not even seeing it for ourselves will sway our thinking.

To see things differently we need to step outside familiar boundaries. We must expand our thoughts to be able to do so. We must make it possible that there is more to us than we perceive. We do not have to make it a fact right away; we can start by changing from the impossible to the possible. This is a logical decision, given that we cannot prove otherwise. With the conflicting notions one can have this is not as easy as you would think.

The other way to approach this is to consider that this is one of life’s paradoxes. To get past it accept neither argument, realize that you do not know or have no personal truth about it and set about find out for yourself. Now, having no truth, one is free to accept the notion as plausible. After all, there is no downside to this, only an upside as one does not come to harm by accepting this and think of the potential if it is true. With this firmly in mind let us start our look into energy linkages.

What Is An Energy Linkage?

An energy linkage is another term for an energy connection, a form of chord if you will, that binds us to a time, concept, thing, place, person or event. Though I use the word chord, the actual “form” of the energy that makes up the linkage as well as how we perceive it can vary immensely. There are other types of linkages, but they are not the concern here. Further, we will be looking primarily at external linkages we form with other people. That said, one can apply the same principles to other types of linkages be they internal (based on a time, belief or concept) or external (places, things and events).

Energy linkages do not have a defined structure or appearance, like a road or a building. They can take many forms and how we see them varies from person to person for many reasons. These include the way we manifest a linkage, our level of awareness and the constructs our minds use to “translate” what is perceived.

In the terms of the linkage itself, depending on the person it can be like a beam of energy, narrow or very wide, a bundle of wires or many little wires, a series of waves or like a cloud or countless other highly personal variations between us and the object of our attention. They become stronger by our intent and by sympathetic connectivity, hence, temperament and personality factor into the way energy manifests.

For example, a subtle person tends to manifest energy in a wispy, unobtrusive or secretive manner, while an aggressive person tends towards the bombastic. No one way is more effective or more powerful than another, just different. Temperament plays a role in this though for most I would dare say the energy blasts of aggressive people’s tend to be noticeable and those subtle people are often missed.

Even as we manifest energy in different ways, we all have our way of interpreting or perceiving energy, nor do we necessarily view it from the same level or plane. When I refer to different views, I mean that we are capable of focusing our awareness on any one of a number of levels or planes and what we perceive varies accordingly. This is similar to how, by using different tools, we can see different spectrum such as ultraviolet or infrared and so on. I encountered this frequently in meditation classes, where two people would verbally disagree about what they perceive and yet both were correct. An example may help.

When someone is angry, I often see flashes of red, like a series of solar flares that flash across their auras, while another might see embers that glow hot for a moment then cool off and yet another sees nothing yet know it by how it feels. This is partly due to how we interpret what we sense, and perhaps more significantly, what symbols each individual mind uses. The American flag is an example of an image that has become a strong arch-type thought form, though individual perception of it varies as we interpret it through our rational mind.

Symbols vary broadly based on individual ideas, communities, political groups, religions and cultures, even across regions of the world. For some a white dove is the symbol that comes to mind when they think of peace, others picture a waterfall, clasped hands, a cross, Jesus, or perhaps Gandhi. These symbols are our minds way of embodying an idea or concept, we even do it to our memories.

The more people think about and react to them the stronger the thought form we use to represent them becomes. This is because energies attract energies of the same kind, those that share some commonalities with it.

It is important to remember that our rational mind “filters” what we see and applies its own imagery. This imagery comes in no small part from what I have mentioned. The variance between how we each perceive energy diminishes the further we shift our awareness to levels beyond the bounds of our rational mind.

At the rational mind level, how we see energy varies dramatically; however, the variance decreases when you shift your awareness 'up' (deeper Within) as the rational minds influence over how you interpret what you perceive diminishes. Developing our sensitivity allows us to perceive energy at various levels. Those who can do so and who shift their awareness “high enough” will more often than not completely agree on what they perceive from a given view or plane.

Energy linkages do not exist in the past, they exist here and now, regardless of when we created them except in the case that we have released or removed it. Therefore, if we manifested a linkage twenty years ago, one that remains unresolved, it will still be in us. If it is triggered today we will feel the same reaction we had all those years ago.

How Do Linkages Form?

So, how do they form? To explain this we will go back once more. We have examined the various aspects of us including our thoughts and how ones view of reality affects how and what we think. We have also touched on the concept that all we perceive and all that exists is energy in one form or another, that our thoughts manifest energy and that the energy interacts with other energies depending on the nature of the thought.

For example, when we listen to music we think about it and have feelings about it. Our thoughts and feelings manifest energies in and around us based on the nature of the thoughts. It is also true that some of the vibrations or energy manifested by our thoughts flows to the object of our attention, in this case likely the artist and any other people or objects that come to mind when we listen to it. The strength and type of energy sent depends on the nature of the thought and its intensity.

We have discussed how:

  • Energy follows attention
  • Thoughts are acts just like any other act we undertake
  • Energy directed at an object or person interacts with their energy

This is why getting to know the types of thoughts we have is critical if we are to know ourselves. Our thoughts manifest energies and there is the potential for a linkage to form if there is a commonality between and the energy we direct at them. When they return our attention and where there are commonalities, the interaction of energy can create a link. If empowered, the energy sent and reactions to it from both ends flow back and forth along the link. We will examine how linkages form by looking at the effect of thoughts on energy beyond as well as within our own auras.

Typically, as we go about our day, we observe people; we see and consciously focus on their physical aspects. We are not always aware of what we may think of or sense something about them non-consciously; however, this factors into our view of and reaction to them. We are also not typically aware of our rational minds programming as it affects our reactions.

All of these factors, and others, form the basis of our assessment of the person, one that is often stereotypical, superficial and simply not correct. This is in part because our rational mind does not differentiate between an impulse and an intuition; it cares about how our response makes us feel, not whether it is “true” or not. If, by reading someone one-way, we feel stronger, safer, and smarter or whatever, then this is the view we generally take.

In a figurative sense, our rational mind pays attention to the loudest voice it hears, which are typically our wants, needs and desires. Unless one has worked on their intuition, it is rare that it is anywhere near loud enough to overcome the noise in our head. This is because, as touched earlier, intuition is a voice that seems to go quiet as our upbringing teaches us to distrust even fear it and focus on our physical reality. As a result, we have the tendency to either misread or ignore our intuition.

Now, we must also remember that we do not exist as isolated individuals nor are we as separate and distinct as people presume. As we go through our lives, we interact with thousands of people. We are not little bubbles of energy moving around, we are more like little stars without a defined surface, glowing and shimmering with energy flowing in and out and around us. We form relationships of varying degrees of closeness with everyone and everything we meet along the way. Naturally, the types of relationships vary immensely, yet they all share one thing: the substance, if you will of all of them is energy. Energy, being in perpetual motion, is never static.

Based in part on reasons mentioned above, explaining how we interact with others at the non-physical level is difficult, understanding what this implies is less challenging. To give you an idea, let us look at how our energy interacts with others from when we first meet them to when we know them very well. We will look at various types of interactions, whether positive, neutral or negative and their dynamics; hopefully, this will dispel some of the mystery.

We have discussed numerous times the idea that each of us has an energy field; collectively all aspects of “our” energies extends a little ways outside of our physical body. Its density, if you can call it that, is mostly consistent within though it varies the from place to place and plane to plane. It starts to drop off quickly outside of the body, and remember that our aura, unlike our physical body, extends many levels beyond the physical, and we can have different degrees of awareness on each of them. Hence, the average extent of one’s aura depends on the person and can vary from barely outside the boundaries of the body to many yards or even far further.

The extent of our auric field is not a set distance. It's 'size' depends on such factors as our mood or emotional state, our level of awareness, how we view the outside world, the power of our spirit, how much we choose to project it and what external connections we have manifested. Therefore, in reality, it is be virtually impossible to say, save in regards to the lower aspects of our auric field, “Here is where my energy ends.”

Without getting into chakras and local centers within our auras, our aura also has a texture of sorts, one that can vary throughout. Besides our level of personal power, our thoughts and resultant emotions affect both the extent and nature of our aura at any particular moment. What we are thinking and feeling now does not set the overall state of our aura, our reactions to all our experiences in this life does.

Our beliefs, concepts and notions about us, the nature of the existence and our relationship with the world affect it as well. When we manifest a thought, it has within it the vibrations of the energies that gave rise to it. Through this process, we imbed core and long held thought constructs into all subsequent thoughts.

Our energy field is not fixed or rigid, it shifts as we act and react to our experiences; however, as mentioned, our aura’s general constituency does not change quickly. When something exciting happens, the aura typically expands and shifts as thoughts and emotions erupt, when we feel lonely, hurt or alone it contracts. After a time it returns to its usual state, generally with only a minor impact, if any. It is likely you have experienced both of at some time in your life. You can correlate their impact on one’s aura to the strength and persistence of the emotions.

Energy interacts continually; when it does, it takes on a secondary motion that has, as its basis, the influences of the interacting energies and separately manifests a new energy that is the synergy of the two. The two vibrations must also be of the same type or share commonalities and only persist for any length of time if the source vibrations are strong enough or ongoing. Think of thoughts as a quantum packet with inherent vibrations or qualities. In turn, the packets form webs with other thoughts that share quantum similarities or commonalities.

In the normal course of activities, we encounter and think about many things. Our thoughts manifest energies, some of which moves towards the object of attention. This is also the basis of telepathy. Our thoughts radiate out and others perceive the vibration. If they are alert and aware, they may be able to “translate” that energy consciously. Most casual thoughts lack the power to reach the object as a directed thought form. When they do have sufficient vibrancy, they reach the person and tend to hover around them. This does not constitute a linkage; further, the energy will hover around them, likely unnoticed consciously. The energy can do more than hover if the person permits access, typically non-consciously. Access depends on what thoughts the person has, though some people are so open that they allow others near unfettered access.

Generally speaking, only strong, persistent or powerful thoughts charged by strong emotions or directed energies have the potential to form links; however, less strong thoughts can also create linkages if they continue for a long enough period. In cases where the energy is strong, but not reciprocated, the energy can form a link with the concepts and ideas that gave rise to them; hence, these links lie within us. Essentially, what we are doing is creating a link to our own thought constructs and directing our energy along this one-way link back at ourselves.

An example of this would be having strong feelings for someone we have never met and have no connection to. We can pour out our energy towards them, however it returns to us in its negative aspect. This closes the loop of energy making us both the source and destination. Unfortunately, this is more common than one would presume.

We manifest a link with someone when there is reciprocation of energy. This generally, as mentioned, requires strongly charged or prolonged interactions between two people and possibly more people, though it is not a requirement. Nor does it require an identical energy from both ends (or all ends when more than two people are involved), only ones related to each other through a response to it or from commonalities between them.

For example, if two people of like minds though differing levels of awareness interact, the energy of their thoughts flows between them, though not necessarily on the same level or sub-plane. Movement of energy is the initial stage of a link. A link will form if there is sufficient commonality between them, regardless of their levels, and enough energy from both ends to maintain it afterwards, otherwise it will fade.

Repeated interactions between people create tenuous links; sustaining them requires constant reinforcement or that strong energies be involved. Where an interaction leads to the manifestation of strong emotional, spiritual or other types of energy, the link may be strong enough to keep ones attention afterwards. Energy follows attention and it is important to not that the attention have to be at the conscious level.

Once there is energy flowing both ways the energies interact. This affects both energies and draws other energies into the flow. The resultant flow of energy is, to a certain extent, independent of either party. Even when the energies take on these secondary motions we remain connected to them as one source of their vibrations is the energy of our thoughts. The developing link alone results in a very strong commonality.

These secondary energies will not simply go away even if we clear the issue that gave rise to them in the first place. Yes, we empowered them, however, once empowered they take on a “life of their own”. Remember, there may also be a number of energies that shared commonality with the energies that gave rise to the link. Hence, even if we cleared the original issue entanglements can remain. We can also clear these though, generally speaking once, the main issue has been resolved the affect it has on us tends to be significantly reduced.

Factors That Influence the Formation of Linkages

Let us look at some of the factors that affect the formation of energy linkages, so that you can find your own way of understanding them. To this end, we will touch what affects the movement of energies and the factors that can influence this movement. Do note that the lists are not exhaustive.

Factors that affect the movement of energy are:

  • Nature of the thought – what is the thought and its aspects
  • Plane/level of the thought - level affects potential
  • Our Intent - imparts “direction”, not necessarily spatially
  • Strength of the thought - motive force, must be at same plane as the thought
  • Degree of attention/focus - conscious and/or non-conscious

Factors that influence the movement are:

  • Degree of attraction - what we focus on or notice consciously
  • Type of attraction - why we focus on something such as is it moving, a threat or interesting and whether it is an emotional or intellectual/conceptual attraction
  • Supportive or resisting thoughts – we may have thoughts that block us from sending or receiving various types of energies

I would be remiss if I did not say imposition of energy linkages is also possible. That is to say that our higher or inner self, even other awareness’s can set up certain conditions for us. While this is for another discussion, it accounts for some of the strong connections we feel towards to people we meet even after a very brief encounter as well as for whom we fall in love with and so on. I know we like to think that we manifest absolutely everything ourselves, this just is not the case.

The nature of any link we manifest is dependent on the above factors. We describe the nature of a links by such factors as its strength, the types of energy that it is comprised of, its longevity and so forth. While it is impossible to examine all potential variations in the movement of energy, one can get a good understanding of it by considering the factors more closely.

All energy movement we manifest is rooted in our thoughts. The higher the plane or level of a thought, the greater the potency and while the nature of the thought determines its plane it is the aspects of the thought that determine its movement. Figuratively speaking, a loving, devotional or compassionate thought carries further than one with selfish intent. Obviously, the strength of the thought combined with the nature and plane of it, affects the movement of energy.

I have separated our intent from the thought itself, as they are not synonymous. That is, if I have a loving thought about someone there is a component of movement in the thought itself as by thinking of another a commonality is “embedded” into the thought. Such thoughts are about a person, they do not move energy the way thoughts directed at a person do. By thinking “I do not like so and so” I do not manifest as much of nor the same kind of energy as thinking “I wish so and so would go away”.

Our degree of attention to or focus on the thought also affects the movement. The attention we pay to the thought, again consciously or otherwise, determines whether the energy movement is directed and continuous at that level or whether it is intermittent. The level I refer to is that established by the nature of the thought, our intent and so on. Primary among these is our focus; that is what our rational minds deems important enough to pay attention to and why. Increased attention results in an increase in the potential for movement, regardless of whether the attention is positive or negative.

Other factors influence this movement, factors not directly associated with the source thought(s) itself. The most significant of these is the type of commonality or attraction that is involved and the strength of other thoughts that share the commonality with it. One example would be where we have other thoughts about that person or hold beliefs that have a commonality with the experience. These thoughts can add to or modify the nature of the energy flow.

Another example would be the following. Let us say that another person and I are having a running verbal battle for whatever reason. In the meantime, an aggressive, bullying person accosts me. If my mind perceives similarities, or commonalities, between the person who accosted me and the person at work, the emotions can feed my issue with the first person and add enough energy to manifest a link or strengthen an existing one.

It is worth noting that, even if no link exists we can still be redirecting anger or hurt from one experience into another. The same types of commonalities are behind stereotyping, that is we allow our prior poor integration of experiences to influence the processes of our thinking and observations such that we make erroneous associations.

Further, as explained above, though we manifest a link and empower it, once created it takes on a life of its own. That is it has an existence separate from us. This is because when we direct energy with our attention, it does not pass through a vacuum. It stirs the energies it “passes” into movement with similar energies. The energies stirred do not maintain their form unless sufficiently empowered, though once this occurs they become independent of us and dependent on the energy moving along the link.

We manifest linkages for the reasons stated, and that link will remain so long as the thoughts and energies that gave rise to it persist. If we empowered a strong linkage, it will remain even if we are not paying conscious attention to it. Further, so long as the vibrations that led to it persist in us, for example the higher emotions of caring, sympathy and compassion on or the lower ones such as jealousy, envy, or anger, the link will remain active and charged. Do note that links do not vanish on their own; they will still be there unless we remove them by completely clearing the issue that gave rise to as well as to any associated thoughts that become entwined with it.

We foster positive links because they enrich us and remove negative links as they hold us back. Removing links is not hard, if one has the skills to find and resolve them; it is developing the required skills that take time. It is also important to note that one can remove a linkage even if the original issue remains unresolved, though in this case without changes it is likely to manifest again in another form.

The Basics of Working With Energy Linkages

To work with directly with energy linkages one must be able to sense the distinctive energy of the linkage itself or be consciously aware of all the thoughts and feelings associated with it. Typically, one does not set about hunting down links by scanning their energy though it is possible to do this; it requires one have a very high degree of sensitivity. We use the same method to find links as we do to find thoughts that give rise to an emotion we experience, that is we use the energy of our emotional reactions to lead us back to the source thought(s). This is the same regardless of whether the link is positive or negative.

To grasp the process, think of a time when you searched your memory for something you want to remember but have forgotten. You likely tried to think of things that are in common with or related to the memory you seek, hoping that will spark the thought to come forward. You may try to remember what you were doing at the time, go through a mental replay of an event or try to think of things similar to it.

By doing this, one is using properties of commonality to find the thought(s) containing the memory to get it to “resonate” so that you can hear or perceive it. Now, if you simply substitute “feel” instead of “think”, you will realize that if you can remember the feeling alone, can make it strong enough so that any induced resonance is also strong, it will lead you to its source. We are not always successful at finding a memory this way, nor will we necessarily find any associated thoughts. This happens when we cannot focus our attention or our sensitivity is low.

This is why it is important to be aware, in the moment, of our reactions to our experiences. If we can “capture” some of our reaction, that is we remember it, we can use the energy of it or the emotion we feel, to guide our sight. Figuratively, and at a very high level, what we do is feel the energy, make it stronger and then we examine the threads of energy connected to it, as they will lead us to their source. The stronger the energy and the greater our degree of attention the easier it is to find connected thoughts.

If we are skilled enough we can do this as we react, otherwise it is best to do this type of work during meditation. Now, this leads us to the thoughts, which are not the link, though we can then reapply this process with the thought to find the link. However, to do so one needs to either become more sensitive to energy and his or her aura or have the assistance of someone who is.

The purpose of this material is to make you aware of what energy linkages are and how they manifest. It is virtually impossible to cover every scenario and possibility without turning this into a treatise, though even this may not suffice. Nonetheless, I believe that armed with the knowledge of them one will be more aware and can take a more active role in fostering beneficial links and not taking on those that are limiting.

Nor should we forget that there are always consequences to our thoughts just as there are to our actions. When you work with energy, always have the best interests of others as well as yourself in mind. This is not a suggestion, when we undertake working with energy and do not have the highest good of all as a basis for any actions we undertake then there are “negative” consequences.

Energy linkages, in and of themselves can be beneficial or restrictive, even harmful. They primarily manifest from our reactions and integration of shared experiences though not exclusively; however, they the later type are beyond the scope of this material. We create energy linkages as we go through life; they form in innumerable ways with all manner of energies. It all depends on the nature of the experiences we share and our own actions.

When we think of friends with whom we have a loving and caring relationship, we can be sending energy of that kind towards them. Conversely, when we have a negative view of someone we can be doing the opposite. The person at the other end may not consciously notice it, for this is dependent on their state of mind and sensitivity, nonetheless they receive it if our thought has sufficient vibrancy or we have a connection with them.

As mentioned, in order to create a linkage with another there must be attention paid in both directions, not necessarily consciously. The strength is dependent on the nature of the relationship and the energies both parties pour into it. This is why we can find ourselves thinking of a friend just before they call or visit. We may even know that something is going on with them to the point where we feel what they feel or even see what they see. If you notice that this mechanism is similar to that used in telepathy, you would be correct. The main point to remember is that when two people have strong disagreements or experiences that manifest lower emotions the energy that flows is not beneficial to either person.

The most common types of negative links people form are based on of guilt or blame, typically fueled by hate, malice, anger or jealousies. Anger between people, directed by guilt and blame, forges a link built on the energies manifested by their emotions. Each aspect of that anger, which includes all thoughts with strong enough commonalities, contributes to the energy flow.

When one person is angry with another person, energy flows from one to towards the other. The energy is unidirectional. It only affects the other person if they have aspects within themselves that resonate with it, that is, directed energies will empower only those aspects that have a commonality with the energy sent. This happens whether the person is conscious of it or not. What matters is that some aspect of us pays attention, not which one.

Links created by reactions we are not aware of are generally tenuous, unless there are many shared commonalities or very strong potentials, in which case what the link does is influence us. We can find ourselves having thoughts that lead us to become angry. If we are aware of the anger directed our way, consciously or otherwise and have commonalities with it, our reaction can created a link back. It can grow in strength if we then pay more attention to it, even more so if we engage that anger directly either verbally, physically or even mentally.

For example, a link can form when two people do nothing more than glare angrily at one another, the longer it continues the stronger it gets for what empowers it is the strength of our emotional response. Again, none of these is necessary and sufficient conditions to establish a long-term link.

Consider the situation where a number of people around me, whom I have no connection with, are getting angry over a matter that does not concern me. I may still find myself feeling agitated to varying degrees by it. While part of this reaction may be from judgmental thoughts regarding events, some of it is due to having some similar energy in my aura, energy that resonates with it. This reaction does not necessarily create a strong link; however, it will influence me by empowering the thoughts we have in common. In addition, if I continue judging or the agitation leads to my attention to those involved I will have joined in thereby increasing the potential to form a link.

It is important to note that, as the above infers, we can create links in our mind to events in our lives that lock us into the past, perpetuate the emotions involved and reduce our attention.

The long-term links we create remain in place unless we remove them. They become part of our relationships with others and the one we have with ourselves. In the course of a lifetime, we meet and interact with many thousands of people. For the most part these links are short term ones and we are generally unaware that we have created them. The only ones that are of concern to us in our growth are those that are neither supportive nor beneficial. We do want to reinforce positive links, and eliminate those that hold us back.

I have briefly touched on how we eliminate persistent, negative linkages. It requires a high degree of objectivity and sensitivity to work with energy for linkages, like thought forms, are part of a sea of energy. The energy of this sea exists on a multitude of planes and within it are dependencies and relationships far more complex than the rational mind can grasp. This is because whenever we react to an experience, the energies manifest by our reaction resonate through us and become integrated with other thoughts we have be they beliefs, concepts, memories or even other links.

At the same time, I would be remiss if I did not also state that we can effectively accomplish the same thing by letting go of all the emotions and associated thoughts that make up and empower the link. That is to say, forgiveness, in its purest sense also terminates a negative link.

This is not magic; forgiveness is an act that if complete releases the bonds we have to a person, event or ourselves. These bonds are in the form of energy, as we have discussed in relation to energy linkages and on other topics. If we forgive and let go of all the energies that gave rise to the link we sever the connection to it. This is why saying we forgive someone is easy, while true forgiveness is far from it.

Additional Points

It is thoughts that create links and our emotional reactions empower them. Therefore, we must release the thoughts that gave rise to them, and the energy they manifested. By sensing the energy of a link and how the nature of how it is connected to us, we gain access to the thoughts that gave rise to it. Putting words to the energy is one way of decoding these thoughts. We can do this in meditation and through automatic speaking or writing. Once we locate the thoughts, we must explore and understanding them. We must make sure we are aware of all connected thoughts as well. The last step is to resolve the issue that gave rise to the thoughts in the first place. Resolving the issue releases the thoughts that gave rise to both the link and energy of it. This is happens when we completely forgiven someone.

Psychologists have had some success helping people resolve energy links using various methods. This happens even though they do not deal with concepts of energy in this manner, nor would they necessarily agree with the above method. At the same time and depending on the skill of the psychologist, their method of talking through problems and exploring the issues around them, and to varying degrees can be successful.

It can take time to go through this type of process, and there are no guarantees, primarily because we have many issues. Issues become interconnected making the isolation of thoughts specific to a particular person a hit and miss proposition. Further, conceptual issues such as those based on beliefs or core concepts can be associated with issues that may seem independent on the surface though they may not be.

For example, at the higher level one may have a belief such as “nothing I do will ever really be successful” and at a more practical level they have an issue maintaining focus. They can work on the focus issue with little success because the belief that they cannot be successful affects their focus. If they cannot “see” the belief issue then working on their focus while beneficial in other ways will remain challenging. If you find it difficult to work through issues on your own too hard consider seeking out someone qualified to help you through some of it.

Terminating older negative links, those manifested by events further back in our history, provide a different challenge. There are a number of reasons for this, including our having forgotten, blocked or repressed the memory of the event and that over time they can become highly connect and virtually indistinguishable from other issues. However, we will eventually discover even these links if we are persistent in dealing with the ones we can perceive by the wake of emotions they leave behind.

The energy links we have discussed to this point are of the more obvious variety that being those triggered by experiences that led to a strong emotional reaction. We will end this topic by briefly touching on those of a more subtle variety.

Let us say we have a friend or someone we know who is hurting for various reasons. As friends, we feel sympathy for them, even sorry for them. Our natural reaction would be to think good thoughts for them, to wish them well and for some to pray for them. This manifests a flow of energy from us to them, the strength of which depends on factors we have discussed.

Generally, the person feels or even accepts the flow of energy and benefits from it. However, there are people who want others to feel sorry for them or who feel entitled. People who do this feel it is acceptable, maybe even right, for them to do get energy from others and they have become accustomed to the energy they get as a result. This is not a mutually beneficial link. This type of link, while formed jointly, can turn into a one-way energy flow. The sender can find that not only are they sending energy, it may also be taken from them, especially if they are giving people. A desire to help “anyway we can” can manifest a thought construct that gives permission for the other to leech away our energy.

Those with a high degree of skill, that is sensitivity to energy and control over their thoughts, can remove a link by working directly with it. In this method, one locates the energy of the link, explores the nature of the link is connected to us (it could be figuratively be like a spear, a cloud or a tree root), cut the tie, remove the energy from our aura and then fill any gaps with positive nurturing energy. I would state that while this will remove the link, it would not resolve the issue that gave rise to it. This means we could create similar links with others in the future; we can even reactivate the remnants of the one we thought we had terminated.

What you should take away from all of this is that our thoughts affect energy in and around us. By being more cognizant of this, we can forge fewer negative links and foster those that are mutually beneficial.

Additional Topic: Energy Probes

Now that you have a good understanding of energy and its movement due to attention, I will touch briefly on energy probes. What is an energy probe, you ask? Well, have you ever looked at someone and wondered, “What are you thinking about?” Alternatively, have you ever wanted to know something, but the person cannot or will not tell you?

We return to the idea that energy follows attention. When we think such things, regardless of the reason, we direct energy towards the person. This thought, while sounding benign enough, directs energies towards the object of our attention. By this, I mean that the act that initiated the energy was ego based. The probe itself is not the concern; rather it is the intent behind it. In any event, we retain a connection with the energy we send, energy whose purpose is to find out something we do not have permission to know. Fortunately, most probes have little power behind them. Most people, somewhere within themselves, do not believe it is “right” to do so. They would be correct in this belief, and it puts a damper on the energy.

This still happens, generally without either person’s conscious awareness for we do not have to be conscious of our attention for energy to follow it. Beliefs based on mistrust, uncertainty, fear and the like create programs that make our rational mind watchful. This occurs on more than one level; we just are too busy or preoccupied to perceive it.

Probes are not links, as they are unidirectional. They can lead to a link, of course, but only if the person probed reacts to it directly. To do so they would have to sense or know the source of it, suspicion alone would be unlikely to trigger a strong enough response. Even then, it would have to lead to a much stronger interaction to form anything more than a temporary link.

I also must differentiate between a probe and an empathic or telepathic connection. A probe is, more or less, a directed conscious thought whereas empathy and telepathy do not require this. The reason is that we all “radiate” energy and this energy is from aura and from our thoughts and feelings. Those that can perceive it or whom are sensitive to it can “decode” what is perceived which is fundamentally different from consciously trying to probe another person.
