Twin Powers LogoAbout The Twin Powers Website

The Twin Powers Website is the embodiment of Allan Beveridge's years of involvement in the areas of spiritual development, energy work, meditation and personal growth. The purpose of this site is to assist those working on their growth or who have an interest in this area by providing a variety of resources including his material, links to the works of others, guest writers and over time more features.

The material is not based on any particular philosophical or intellectual schools of thought or spiritual or religious belief systems. Allan has spent years making himself aware of most of these systems and sees value in them all. However, seeing each of these as filtered view he focused instead on self, consciousness and the nature of things independent of them.

Over the years of assisting others with their personal and spiritual growth he found many struggled with reconciling their own experiences and beliefs with the multitudes of others "systems" they have encountered and the differences in perspective, terminology and explanations and so on between them. He also learned one of the biggest challenges was that while there were plenty of people telling others what to do they were short on explanations of why they should and even more so ... how.

There is an old saying of "You can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink." Through his own experiences Allan realized that when it came to spiritual growth people weren't even being told where the water is or why they needed it. He also knew that while in many cases what people were being told to do the simple is we aren't going to learn by simply being told "what to do". We don't learn by command and without some understanding of why and how we are unlikely to be able to what we are told to do. He could clearly see that even with all the information available people still struggled. He also came to more fully understand the main reason why.

Through his work with others he learned that the biggest inhibitor is one's own mind and the thoughts and beliefs within it. To help them he needed to find a way around this challenge and found inspiration in a quote by Bertrand Russell...

"Everything is vague to a degree you do not realize till you try to make it precise."

The realization that people do better when they have an understanding of how's and why's of things led him to share his awareness of them. He knew telling people what to do was the easy part, but when they are also confused and uncertain about what to believe it's not very helpful. Given that everyone is unique and what works for one may not for another he focused on the mind itself, which he saw as the gatekeeper to growth and greater awareness. People are not dumb and when they are made more aware of the nature of their own minds their thoughts became more consistent and focused. This reduces their confusion and uncertainty and they make real progress.

This site was a way for him to share his thoughts on the how's and why's and, based on them, what he did to grow so others could learn from them. Doing so would help them apply their understandings to their own situation and lives. He knew you can't "make people drink" but through his writings wanted to give people tools they could use to figure out for themselves what to do to "get to water and drink".

Bearing this in mind he had a vision and mission. Work began work on the site in 2010 based on previous writings and went live in May of 2011. But it was just the beginning as he knew what he started needs to also grow and evolve from its beginnings. He knew that that with input from the community of visitors and members and their contributions it would do so. Yes, it is a modest beginning, but everything has to start somewhere.
