Self Awareness
In the previous section, Section 1: Concepts, we looked at important fundamental elements for active personal growth in previous essays. In particular I am referring to key qualities like our intent, desire, being honest, accepting personal responsibility and having a more active awareness. There was also a series of essays on the nature of thoughts and the mind itself in Section 1 and Section 2A: Core Growth Elements, . All of these notions are very important ones to be aware and have a good understanding of. Now it is time to dig into what brings them all together - self awareness.
Self awareness is absolutely critical for both kinds of growth. We can try to be honest, accept responsibility for our choices and actions and know how our mind works and so on, however, if we are not paying attention to our doings we can and likely will miss many things. I am referring to things such as not noticing when our intent wavers, when we are thinking or saying things that are not true or miss noticing our personal responsibilities for not just what we think and feel and our choices and their consequences.
The intent of the essays in this section is to help you develop a broader and deeper awareness of yourself. By paying more attention to your emotions, thoughts and choices and their consequences you greatly empower your growth. The reason is simple - we cannot fix what we do not see.
